Title: Anger Is A Gift
Author: Mark Oshiro
# of Pages: 464
Summary: Grade 10 student Moss Jefferie is not okay. His father was killed by police 6 years ago, the medias’ representation of him, his father, and other black people give him intense panic attacks. Not to mention his school’s new protocol of “random” locker searches, metal detectors and constant intimidation by the police. But the students aren't going to just lay low, instead they decide to push back against the new school policies, and hateful things around their community. When they are met with tragedy, things start to unravel and Moss Jefferie along with the rest of the youth must figure out whether anger and passion should be kept locked away, or if anger is really the key to change. Is anger actually a gift?
